Ed is a New York City native who developed an interest in real estate at an early age while helping his entrepreneurial, first-generation Korean-American parents to manage their small business and real estate investment portfolio. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, he cut his teeth in sales and sales-leadership roles across various industries, including as a Marketing Strategy Consultant for a Fortune Global automotive brand and as a Sales Manager for a New York tech start-up. Ed’s boundless energy and relentless enthusiasm are apparent from the moment you meet him, and he brings those qualities to bear in every deal that he’s involved in. Whether he is preparing a home for sale, guiding buyers to properties that best reflect their lifestyle and investment goals, or preparing a board package that gets his client enthusiastically approved (new drum set and 100lb Rottweiler notwithstanding), he’ll be doing it with a smile on his face and a sincere commitment to securing the best possible outcome for those who have entrusted him to represent their interests. Always accessible, straight up and religiously transparent, he is the antithesis of the stereotypical New York City real estate agent. Ed is fluent in both English and Korean. If you are interested in real estate, or how emerging tech has the potential to facilitate and improve meaningful human interaction, he will drop everything to talk with you at length. He maintains an active lifestyle through boxing, hiking, and urban dance. He claims to have some culinary expertise and an extensive knowledge of New York City's best eateries, though his devoted teammates are still waiting for him to secure them a friends and family discount at Eleven Madison Park.

Michael approaches his role as a real estate agent in the same way that he approached his former role as a transactional attorney at one of New York’s most prominent law firms: He serves as a trusted advisor to his clients and works tenaciously to get the deal done in a way that meets or exceeds each of his client’s unique needs and expectations. From first contact to the closing date and beyond, Michael is honest, affable and always available to address your questions and concerns. Born and raised in Canada, Michael arrived in New York City in 2007 and immediately knew that he had finally found his home. In the years since, he has has become deeply immersed in his community. As an involved parent at a private school in Chelsea, he understands the specific concerns of family-life in Manhattan, while as shareholder, board-member and president of a self-managed co-op in the West Village, he has a deep knowledge of the challenges of owning, managing and maintaining real property in New York City. Having himself relocated from abroad, Michael is also uniquely situated to assist foreign buyers seeking to invest in the New York real estate market. Michael holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Alberta, a J.D. from the University of Victoria, and an LL.M from Columbia University Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. In his spare time, he enjoys downhill skiing, street photography, cycling, riding his motorcycle, independent travel (with trips to over 30 countries on five continents), and spending time with his family at his second home in Columbia Country, where he likes to pretend that he knows how to build things out of wood.
